Samantha Lambert

Secondary Literacy Specialist

Samantha has been teaching Religious Studies and PSHCE eighteen years. Prior to working in York, Samantha trained and worked in disadvantaged schools in Knowsley and St Helens. She arrived in Archbishop Holgate's School in York as Head of Department and helped develop an outstanding team, with a track record of exceptional outcomes. After being promoted to Assistant Headteacher, she was responsible for primary engagement, student experience and later: staff support and development. After having children, Samatha stepped down and worked for Pathfinder Teaching School, as well as remaining teaching at AHS. She was responsible for the delivery of various NPQs and ITT recruitment. After being invited to act as the Literacy Lead for Archbishop Holgate's, Samantha quickly made improvements in terms of the school's literacy and reading provision. Archbishop's is our first Associate School and Samantha was our first Secondary Literacy Specialist.
