A Celebration of Reading for Pleasure – Transforming Schools, Inspiring Pupils
Max 2 delegates per school (ideally those who have not attended previously)
This year, our focus is on the life-changing impact of reading for pleasure for disadvantaged pupils—bringing together leading research, practical classroom strategies, and stories of real change in schools like yours.
We are especially excited to welcome two renowned guest speakers:
Professor Teresa Cremin – A world-leading authority on reading for pleasure, Teresa is Professor of Education (Literacy) at The Open University and co-director of the OU/UKLA Reading for Pleasure research network. Her work has shaped national and international practice, and she will share powerful insights into building strong, sustainable reading cultures that make a difference.
Matt Goodfellow – One of the UK’s most acclaimed and engaging children’s poets, Matt’s energetic performances and best-loved collections, including Bright Bursts of Colour and Let’s Chase Stars Together, have inspired children and educators across the country. His keynote will bring the joy and accessibility of poetry to life as a vehicle for reading for pleasure.
The day will combine:
Research-led insights into the importance of reading for pleasure, particularly for pupils experiencing disadvantage.
Practical strategies and workshops to help you strengthen your school’s culture of reading.
Inspiration and energy from leading voices in education and the arts, ensuring you leave with fresh ideas to share with colleagues and pupils alike.
