Oracy in Action: Giving Every Child a Voice: Making Oracy Matter

We are delighted to invite school leaders and oracy leaders to a powerful, inspiring and nationally informed day.

BOOK NOW

Attendance is limited to up to two delegates per school and is not limited to English leads. This day is designed for leaders shaping whole-school culture and strategy — those with responsibility for driving oracy forward across their setting.

Oracy sits at the heart of learning, equity and outcomes, yet many schools are still asking: what does strong oracy actually look like, and how do we implement it well?
This event will:
  • Unpick the national picture of oracy and why it matters now more than ever
  • Bring together expertise and real school practice
  • Support you to audit your current provision
  • Leave you feeling confident about where to focus your school’s oracy journey next

Keynote: Amy Gaunt, Voice 21
We are thrilled to welcome Amy Gaunt, Director of Strategic Development at Voice 21.
Amy will lead a compelling keynote exploring:
  • What oracy is (and what it is not)
  • The Voice 21 Oracy Framework and how it came to be
  • Benchmarks, misconceptions and the national landscape
  • Practical resources, rich video examples and live Q&A
Amy will also support schools to begin engaging with the oracy benchmarks and assessment tools, helping you reflect honestly on your current position.
Learning from schools already on the journey
A highlight of the day will be a panel discussion with leaders from nationally recognised Voice 21 Schools of Oracy Excellence.
This will be a candid, practical conversation exploring:
  • The strengths and wins of implementation
  • The challenges, tensions and bumps in the road
  • What leaders wish they had known at the start
You will hear honest reflections, ask questions and leave inspired by what is possible.

You will leave with
  • A clearer understanding of the national oracy landscape
  • Insight from schools already embedding oracy at scale
  • Time and tools to audit your current provision
  • Clarity and confidence about your next  steps
  • Meaningful connections with leaders and national experts
This will be a day of thinking, talking, reflecting and planning — focused on empowering leaders to embed oracy across their whole school and ensure every child has a voice.
Places are limited and demand is expected to be high.
