Inviting Head Teachers & Early Reading Leaders ​

9:15 – 2:15pm with lunch provided​

Join us on Tuesday 29th November at Knayton C of E Academy and Keeble Gateway Academy where we will be showcasing best practice in Little Wandle phonics, early reading and early language development, alongside sharing and explaining ways for schools to access new and further financial support. ​

Schools will observe: ​

• High quality phonics teaching​

• Whole class reading​

• Effective environments that promote language development​

• Teaching of early comprehension including the explicit teaching of vocabulary from a quality text, teaching poetry and rhyme​

• How to use quality texts​

• Strategies and approaches on encouraging storytelling and imaginative play (helicopter stories and in the moment, open ended environments)​

​Arrival: 09:15 at Knayton​

Departure: 14:15 from Keeble

Participants are expected to travel between schools​ (see maps below)
